Honoring those who've gone before us...
Today I'm thinking of those who've gone before me, the many intercessors in the valley who've prayed for a House of Prayer in the Fresno area. I remember 12 years ago when I heard of IHOP in Kansas City, how I wished we had one in Fresno. I remember conversatoins of years past of those who thought of starting one in Fresno, yet it wasn't time.
Then in 2006 in my visit at IHOP, the Lord placed it strongly on my heart to being to pray for one in Fresno, and at the time, never imagining I would be the one to help get it going. It was just a great idea for someone else to do. (I won't go into that story as you can read about it on our fresnohope website).
So this vision was conceived in me in the Fall of 2006 and birthed in 2007. We started in a home the first year, then to a prayer room in downtown Fresno for two years, and now we are now enjoying a place near CSUF that is open Mon-Fri. 8am-6 pm. WOW. God is FAITHFUL.We are enjoying the fruit of those prayers.( Now I know some may say, well churches are houses of prayer and I would say, well...nothing at this point.) I just know this is a different wineskin than most.
Has it been difficult and wonderful? Yes to both. This journey has stretched me beyond what I could imagined. There has been days I say, I quit and give up, please take me back to a paying job in the marketplace..But..only to go back and say..not my will Abba, but yours. I've met wonderful people along the way, and that has been a joy. And I so thank my husband and family who've supported me along the way.
So to those who've gone before me..THANK YOU.. Thank you for preparing the way...for tilling the soil of this hard valley ground. I know the spiritual challenges you've faced. It's never an easy work of a trailblazer. And for those of you who are now eating the 'fruit' of Breakthrough' remember those who've prepared the way before you.
