Emily was born with a rare form of Myscular Dystrophy. By the time she was 15 she had used a wheel chair half of her life and had had 10 surgeries. Her father was a alcoholic and abusive. In Middle School her parents divorced. Emily started using alcohol and skipped school to shop lift. She tried to commit suicide.
The summer that she turned 16, she had a turn around. She attended a Prayer Room in Fresno, CA. Two women saw a beautiful tall young woman with a hurting heart and prayed for her. They spoke a destiny over her as she cried. This was the turning point. She started hearing God clearly. She changed her friends, her inappropriate dress, her heavy make up and she decided to forgive her father. She reflects upon her illness and says, "It was a gift from God because it made me who I am today." She speaks with passion and clarity from one who has suffered much but has found hope in a relationship with God.
