The changing church...Women in Ministry

I've been thinking. Why is it we can have women governors, women senators, women, mayors, women CEO's, but we see very few women senior pastors? I say this..because in my community I have yet to meet a women senior pastor. Now there are women pastors over childrens and womens ministries in a larger congregations, but I still have yet to meet a women senior pastor. If there is one, I"m sure they have met many obstacles along the road. I do know of a church in Michigan though, that is led by a woman, and it is a thriving church.  I believe we are entering a season where more women will be raised up and released into senior leadership. Now I have seen many women lead non profit faith based ministries, and I'm so glad for this.  I see so many gifted women, still sitting on the pews..because their gift has not been recognized and/or not allowed to be expressed. My prayer is the release of women apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelist in our valley both in the marketplace and congregations.
"Sing, oh Barren You who have not borne! Break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not labored with child! For moare are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman says the Lord, Enlarge the place of your tent...(Is. 54:1)
