The church structure is changing
I've been reading and hearing about the church structure changing the next ten years. I've already seen many changes, with emerging house churches and closures of some church doors. I don't worry about when I see a church shut it's doors or a pastor moves on...sometimes I think it is God shaking his church..getting people to move to new places. God is in control.
There has also been concern because people are 'leaving the church', I don't think they are leaving the Body of Christ but, instead leaving the traditional church structure. Some are now attending house fellowships where like in the time of Acts..there is breaking of bread, listening to the apostles doctrine (teaching) and community is built. Some are involved in local felowships meeting in cafe's and businesses.
Yes, I do believe we will see more changes coming down the road. It is the decentralized church, where church is not where worship, teaching all happens on a Sunday morning in one location but BEING the church and not GOING to church, occurs during the week in different locations. The pastor is not the only leader, but there are apostles, prophetis, evangelist and teachers equipping the saints sharing the load, and the people do not expect the pastor to do it all. The American church structure is changing. I say Thank you Lord!
